The SailGP fleet took to the water Sept. 5–6 for the 2026 Spain Sail Grand Prix in Valencia, with the U.S. SailGP Team winning its second event of the season. The result moved the team into third place in the overall championship standings.
“We knew we had what it took …. We came in today with a good plan and went out and executed,” U.S. driver Taylor Canfield said in a SailGP press release. “The pressure was on to make some moves in the final, and we did a great job handling the tactics. Everyone on board was spot-on, so yeah, we’re pumped.”
Bonds Flying Roos finished second in Valencia, while Red Bull Italy took third after the weekend’s racing.
Australia’s Bonds Flying Roos continue to lead the overall series with 85 points, followed by Los Gallos with 68, and the U.S. with 56. Artemis is close behind in fourth with 55 points. A series victory for Australia would give the team its fourth Rolex SailGP title.
The next event is the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix on September 19–20 in Geneva. There are just three events remaining in the race for the $2 million purse.
