CrewRenew, a wellness and lifestyle platform created by yacht crew for yacht crew, has launched a new web app that connects crewmembers with South Florida businesses offering discounts on wellness, fitness, recreation, and other activities.
The platform was founded by yacht crewmember Alex Paterson to help crew make better use of their limited time off, especially in unfamiliar ports. Its focus is perhaps best captured in its tagline: “A Better Day Off.”
“Crew put enormous energy into creating great experiences for other people,” Paterson said. “Their own time off deserves attention, too, but we are often too exhausted and burnt out to plan it.”
The progressive web app enables verified crew to discover participating businesses and access member discounts. Crew membership costs $10 per month, while businesses can participate for free with no fees or contracts.
Members can call ahead to make a booking and show their CrewCard upon arrival to redeem an offer. Businesses can verify crew credentials through the platform and use a QR system to display their offers for crew to scan.
Companies on the app include fitness, recovery, recreation, beauty, dining, and other experiences, offering crew options beyond the traditional marine businesses they may encounter ashore.
Participating businesses include The Ice Room, Mad Arts, Lifestream Spa, Keen Fly, The Dripbar Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas Yoga, Cycleward, FTL Scuba Diving, Boxfit Fort Lauderdale, iFly Indoor Skydiving, Guys & Dolls, and Gold Coast Car Rental, among others.
For local businesses, CrewRenew gives them a way to reach verified yacht crew who live in or visit South Florida, while for crew, the platform makes exploring the communities around their ports more accessible and affordable.
“We curate the businesses that will help them if they want to work out, unwind, or try something new ashore, while introducing them to the businesses that make each port community special,” Paterson said.
The new web app is currently focused on South Florida, and membership and merchant information are available at CrewRenew.com.
