Spanish customs officers seized 2.1 tons of cocaine from a 45.9-foot sailing yacht, Seute Deern, in the Atlantic and arrested four crewmembers, according to AEAT, the Spanish tax and customs agency. The vessel was sailing under a Polish flag and was about 650 kilometers off the coast of Galicia.
French customs, Polish police, British police, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration joined Spanish customs in the operation. The four crewmembers arrested were of Argentinian, Uruguayan, Colombian, and Albanian nationality, according to EuroNews. The ringleader, a Chilean national, was arrested in Girona. The investigation remains open.
