The Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) announced that its workforce development initiative, Salty Jobs, earned a Bronze Telly Award in the Education & Discovery category for Season 6 of the video series. Salty Jobs was developed to introduce younger generations to the careers available across the marine industry using story-driven video content. The series has connected students, job seekers, educators, and the public with career pathways on and off the water.
“We are incredibly honored to receive another Telly Award for Salty Jobs Season 6,” said Amy Winer, executive producer of Salty Jobs and MIASF executive support manager. “This recognition highlights the importance of continuing to create educational content that connects audiences to the many career pathways available throughout the marine industry while helping inspire future workforce talent.”
Salty Jobs’ four-to-five-minute episodes give viewers a hands-on look into the day-to-day experiences tied to careers across the marine sector. These range from technical trades and operations to marketing, engineering, marina management, law enforcement, research, and entrepreneurship. The series has generated more than 8.5 million views on YouTube across more than 50 episodes and has showcased more than 100 careers across the marine industry. Its host, MIASF Workforce Development Specialist Anthony Santiago, gained a passion for connecting others to opportunities after his own experience in marine magnet programs, internships, and student competitions.
“One of the most rewarding parts of hosting Salty Jobs is meeting the people behind the marine industry and helping share their stories with students and viewers,” Santiago said. “This award reflects the collaboration, passion, and industry support that make the series possible.”
