Bosun Eleisha Mealing is launching a community video challenge to celebrate the “real moments of life in the superyacht industry” — the ones that happen in the crew mess.

“I wanted to create something that celebrates those people,” Mealing said. “An event that brings crew from every department together to share the moments that make life on board unforgettable. The laughs, the hard work, the friendships, and the experiences that only crew truly understand.”

Open to crew from every department and experience level, the #TheCrewMess challenge invites participants to “show us your world” by sharing authentic moments from life on board.

“It’s where the best stories, laughs, and memories happen,” Mealing said.

Entries open July 17 and close July 24. To enter, crewmembers simply film a real onboard moment, post it to Instagram as a feed post or story, tag @eleishaondeck, and use the hashtag #thecrewmess.

After submissions close, a panel of judges will select finalists, which will then be put to a community vote July 26–28.

There are two ways to win. People’s Choice, determined by public voting, includes a GoPro sponsored by Northrop & Johnson, a one-year Professional Yachting Association (PYA) membership valued at €185, and an IGY prize pack featuring a Yeti bottle, IGY cap, and koozie.

The Bosun’s Pick, selected by @eleishaondeck, awards a crew experience day for the entire yacht, featuring activities such as Fliteboard or eFoil, Awake electric surfboards, SEABOBs, and Yachtbeach inflatables. Winners also receive a one-year PYA membership and a 20% crew training voucher sponsored by Zephyr Yachting.

“I created The Crew Mess because I wanted to give something back to an industry that has given me so much,” Mealing said. “Over the past three years, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world, build lifelong friendships, and grow into the person I am today. Along the way, I’ve realized it’s the people, not the yachts, that make this industry so special.”
